Professional, honest, reliable, quality work! I am an EXTREMELY satisfied customer with a lot of experience with Sweeney Construction. We purchased a large home a few years ago that needed extensive renovations. They have done everything in our home from garage renovations, to gutting and reconstructing bathrooms, master bedroom/bathroom renovation, relocating laundry room, constructing huge walk in pantry, adding closets, and removing and installing all new flooring. We are extremely satisfied with their work and the experience. We are looking forward to our next project with them - renovating our kitchen. We will never hire another construction company. Sweeney Construction is the best! They do not disappoint and will exceed your expectations!
Mike Sweeney and his crew proved to be the best hire we ever made! After meeting with several contractors about remodeling our kitchen and bathrooms, Mike was the easy choice. He is knowledgeable, professional, and attentive to every detail of a project. Mike and his crew arrived every morning on time, ready to work. He referred us to excellent companies to select the materials and guided us expertly through what could have been an overwhelming process. We also could not believe the care Mike and his crew took of our home. They carefully covered areas that were not being renovated to ensure they were not damaged and they left our home clean and orderly upon completion of the project. We can't recommend Sweeney Construction highly enough!
Tom and Mike and their crew were very easy to work with on the new construction of our sunroom. I was so pleased that I wish they built our home, as someday my husband and I say they will. They were clean, courteous, efficient, and loved by our dog! Finally they were by far the best contractors we have worked with and we have had many. Tom was helpful answering all our questions and was very patient with me, he helped on so many levels!
We hired Sweeney Construction to do a complete gutting of our bathroom. They replaced the bathtub with a tiled shower with ShowerGuard doors. New vanity, corner mirrors, new wiring and new toilet were installed. This is an old house. During the gutting it was discovered that the floor joists had been compromised requiring major reconstruction. The job continued into the hall way since an entry door was moved and a new window installed. The company took pains to cover all rugs and floors resulting in less dust than we expected. We are delighted with the finished project and have received many compliments. We highly recommend this company.
Tom Sweeney is currently replacing my master bath and doing a very neat, careful and precise job. His workmanship is the best I have ever had. When they are done for the day everything is cleaned up and made neat. I can't wait to see my finished new bathroom. So far everything is going great!!!
We hope that we never have to build another house – only because my wife and I love our house so much. However, if we ever build another house or have a significant project, there’s no one we’d use but Sweeney Construction, specifically Mike. He is not going to be the cheapest but we didn’t want cheap. We wanted a house that we were confident would be done right, on time and on budget. That’s what we got and then some from Sweeney Construction, thanks to Mike spearheading the project.
We hired the Sweeney Construction Co to build an addition to our existing home. It was to make it easier to care for my husband who has Parkinson's Disease: a handicapped accessible bathroom, large bedroom, hallway to the exit, guest bath and laundry room off the hall, and a small porch. The Sweeneys were respectful, courteous and very thorough in the planning and carry through. They kept us informed of each major part of the construction, and were responsive to our questions and concerns. We felt that they were quite knowledgable and kept within the budget and timetable. The construction and finish work are top quality.
There are not enough positive words to describe our family's experience with Sweeney Construction Company. We hired Tom and Mike to create a living space for my father in law. The project entailed converting an existing garage to living space and adding some new living space and a garage. The new living space included a kitchen area, full bath and a mudroom/laundry room. Not only were Tom and Mike professional, amiable and knowledgeable; but everyone who worked for them including subcontractors carried the same level of high standards. They did not settle for getting the job done, it had to be impeccable and exactly what my family wanted. They were easy to work with, schedule and flexible. The project lasted approximately 4 months, on schedule even with many Mother Nature setbacks! Rather than "glad to get rid of the contractors", my family was sad to not see them anymore on a daily basis. They were always respectful of our personal living space, when walls are wide open and walking through the house all day is required, that is not an easy feat. Most importantly, I always felt good to have anyone representing Sweeney Construction around my family and kids. They upheld a fun, teaching, professional and wonderful environment.
My backyard cedar deck needed to be replaced. After visiting a local showroom, we selected Transcends Lava Rock decking. Tom Sweeney, the company representative from Sweeney Construction Company, not only guided us throughout the installation but also answered all questions from my wife and family during the construction. The date of the construction began exactly on the agreed upon date and completed within a week. There was no damage to my lawn and shrubbery and all materials, including the old deck, were removed. We definitely selected a responsible and honest construction company. They will be called again for our next home project.
Excellent job. Started on the date I was told and finished on time. Worked well with me on all aspects of the remodeling. Had a complete makeover of our master bath plus a redo of first floor powder room. Gave great advice in areas where it was needed because of my lack of knowledge. Employees were on time and took care of other areas of my house they had to pass through to get to the bath. I would definitely use this company again.
We have used Sweeney Construction Co for multiple projects, including the construction of a pool house, the redesign of our existing Trex deck, the conversion of our third garage bay into a mud room, the replacement of our basement windows, the installation of a door to access our attic / storage space over our garage, the replacement of our rear sliding door, and the installation of multiple sets of cabinets! All work was done perfectly and professionally. Mike and his crew are courteous, clean, timely and true masters of their craft. We will continue to hire Sweeney Construction for all future projects and would (and have) highly recommend them to others. The project date listed below is for the pool house, but I have been using Sweeney Construction for over 10 years.
We had a bathroom remodeled, a water line ran to our ice maker and new locks installed in the front door. The work was done with precision and in a timely manner. Everything was done right the first time and they are true professionals. I will have them back again when I need more work done.
We used Sweeney Construction to build our sunroom which is hexagon in shape, with a breeze way to connect to the main house, little more challenging than most traditional home additions. They submitted a proposal in writing that had the most detail than all the others who bid the job. We found them to be competitively priced and the written contract was clear and detailed to ensure they met expectations. Sweeney had no issue with change requests. They were discussed, documented and priced in writing. They started everyday on time, no gaps in work due to juggling of other jobs. What sold us on using Sweeney were the emphasis and detail put on how the new room would be tied into the main house. This is key to any successful room addition. What we got was a highly professional contractor not normally seen in this industry and we would use them again without hesitation.
Sweeney Construction (the senior Sweeney) built our custom home in 1986. They provided a complete service from the design stage to completion. Since the initial build, we have had them back on several occasions; no job is too big or too small for this family owned and operated business. No phone calls or emails ever go unanswered. In 2011 we had a major kitchen remodel and renovation. Walls came down and went up along with all new plumbing, and electric. They have a wonderful network of professional, skilled and honest contractors. It was so successful and we couldn't be happier with the result. Right now Sweeney Construction is doing a bathroom remodel and renovation for us. It is so good to know they are handling every aspect of this major undertaking. Not having to be concerned about anything is priceless. Their care, concern and honestly goes beyond words. This is by far the premier construction company in the mid Atlantic region. I don't give out five star ratings without the goods to back them up.
Mike and his team completed our basement, which included a game room with bar, gym, playroom and bathroom. From the beginning to the end, the project ran seamlessly with minimal disruption to our daily lives. They were professional, courteous, and extremely neat. The workmanship was top-notch for both the larger parts of the project as well as the minute details. They made us feel that the small details were just as important as the larger ones and were always considerate of our wishes. I would HIGHLY recommend them for any and all projects, as we plan on using them in the future for other renovations we may have.
